Better late than never

This is hardly relevant anymore since it's no secret we are having a girl but I'm finally spending some time with my new video camera to learn how it actually works.

So, without further ado, here is how we told our family what the gender of our baby is:

Our last big adventure...

...for a while anyways. With the baby coming we know things will change but we sure had a great trip. We just got back from a week long vacation to Kauai with Ben's parents and had the most wonderful time. The weather was great, the company was great, and the food was plentiful.

We stayed in a condo with this view from the lanai.

We saw beautiful sights at the Waimea Canyon, National Botanical Gardens, and Wailua Falls.

We also had plenty of beach time where Ben snorkeled and I laid on the beach (notice I omitted any pictures of me in a swimsuit on the beach-you're welcome)

Ben also had time to golf with his dad while Becky and I rode around in the cart.

And we got to see another natural blow hole. I say another, because we've already had the opportunity to see blow holes on Maui and in Mexico. They are all quite cool.

And now that we are back we can begin to focus on the nursery, which I am so excited about since my mom has made all the bedding.

Ultrasound pictures

20 Weeks

I was going to title this post something about my slow growing belly but when I saw the pictures I realized my belly isn't as small as I thought it was.

I have officially reached the half way point (theoretically -assuming baby doesn't come late) and admittedly the pregnancy has gone pretty quickly. After some first trimester sickness, second trimester has been very comfortable (aside from being hungry all the time and craving onion rings). We don't know the gender of the baby yet but hope to find out soon!

My apologies...

...to Ducks fans. I went to my first ever game and fear I cursed them causing them to break their 21 home game winning streak and dashing any hope of the BCS Championships.

But, I still had a great time (until they lost). I went with my friend from work Sheryl and had an awesome time. We tailgated before the game, eating lots of great food; we then walked around the stadium and saw the Heisman Trophy in person.

We had great seats and yelled a lot.

Captain

Today was Ben's promotion ceremony to Captain. I got to pin (it's called pinning but I'm not actually pinning him, it's velcro) him. I asked Ben's dad Mike to take pictures during the ceremony. All the pictures turned out blurry and Ben's eyes are closed in most of them.
*Note to self, don't ask Mike to take pictures again. :-)
