The answer is simple. On October 4, 2009, Ben and I will be running the Portland marathon. Ben has already been training up for this marathon for quite a while; I, on the other hand, began training last week. I have a training schedule, have researched proper nutrition, hydration, stretching, and strength training, and am dedicated to training up. So Ben and I went shopping last weekend and stocked up on the clothes and shoes we need to help us be successful. Another tool I have in place to help me be successful is my coworker. She used to be a fitness trainer at the Y for several years and she is helping hold me accountable to my training schedule.
When I was in 7th grade I made a list of 50 things I want to do before I die. While some of those things on the list are no longer goals of mine (and many more I’ve already accomplished), one of them was to run a marathon. I figure I’m not getting any younger, so I might as well do it now. Plus, since Ben is running it with his company commander, I figured now was the perfect time.

PS We are not running the Honolulu Marathon but that is what Ben's jacket says.
